The Duchess of York has recently been talking about her recent snub from the royal wedding, which featured Kate Middleton emerging from a wedding marquee in a stunning Alexander McQueen dress to wed Prince William in Westminster Abbey.
In an interview with Oprah Winfrey the former wife of Prince Andrew claimed that she had been hurt by the snub but fully understood why she had not been invited in the wake of the scandal in which she attempted to charge money for access to her former husband.
She commented ”It was so difficult. Because I wanted to be there with my girls … and to be getting them dressed and to go as a family.
“And it was also hard because the last bride up that aisle was me.”
But she added “I felt that I ostracised myself by my behaviour, by the past, by living with all the regrets of my mistakes, that I sort of wore a hair shirt and beat myself up most of the day thinking and regretting why did I make such a mistake?
“Why have I made so many mistakes? So I did spend a good three hours on that.”
