Recommended Occupancy
Figures:
Throughout this site we have referred to the flexibility
offered by marquees in terms of giving you a unique
venue and layout. However, one issue can be how
much space is needed for the number of people
expected? Especially as too few and the venue
will look empty and cold and, too many and it
will be extremely cramped and uncomfortable.
We offer the following

Furniture Supply:
Like ourselves, many providers will also supply
furniture as part of their package; however unlike
us many merely “dump” it at the entrance,
leaving you to layout. At Macey and Bond we lay
it out for you, to ensure that you have the perfect
spacing between each table and person and that
there is no upset amongst your guests over being
squashed etc.
Associated Facilities:
Our long experience in this industry means that
we know many complimentary providers to assist
you with achieving the perfect event; we can therefore
help you with locating the following providers,
should you need this assistance:
• Caterers
• Vintners
• Florists
• Entertainers
• Security firms
• Photographers
Booking Advice:
1. Ensure you receive
a detailed confirmation of all agreed items:
• Check especially that the start and completion
dates of installation are agreed,
together
with the dismantling date.
• Ensure that the space offered by your
contractor is sufficient for your maximum
guest numbers. Most MUTAmarq contractors will
willingly supply a scale plan for
your
peace of mind.
As a guide, a typical wedding marquee, allowing
for reception, dining and dancing
will require approximately 2 square metres per
guest.
• All costs are included and payment terms
are agreed, It is standard industry
practice
to receive a deposit at time of booking.
2. Inform the contractor if you require the marquee
in place before
the
eve of the event.
3. Stagger the arrival of the various contactors
(for example caterers are unable to set
up
before the roof lining is in place).
4. Beware of confusion between metric and imperial
measurements.
5. Update your contractor(s) about changes to
guest numbers or dates etc.
well
in advance of the event.
Safety Advice:
1. Remember that you have a responsibility under
the Health & Safety at Work Act 1974
to assist your contractor in providing a safe
environment for installation crews, you
and your guests.
2. Be sure that your contractor is aware of the
position of any underground or
overhead services, e.g. electricity, gas pipes,
drains, etc.
3. Ensure your power supply is adequate for the
extra load of lights and equipment in
the marquee. If in doubt consult a qualified electrical
contractor.
4. Consider fire precautions, we recommend the
provision of fire extinguishers.
5. Keep all flaps and doors closed in windy conditions.
6. Do not alter the installation in any way. In
particular do not remove cross bracing
cables or bars (frame structures) or any guy ropes
(pole tents).
7. Use the experience and professional guidance
of your MUTAmarq contractor if in
doubt over any safety issue.
8. Marquees for exceptional sites, during winter
months or extreme weather
conditions require special consideration; consult
your MUTAmarq contractor.
9. For your peace of mind ask to see evidence
of your contractor’s public liability
insurance. All MUTAmarq contractors are required
to maintain adequate cover. |
